Porn star Rina Kago declares war on Taiwan

The Japanese porn star Rina Kago (雅子りな) has stoked controversy by going off on an online rant about her dislike of Taiwanese people.

The 24-year-old adult video performer released a bizarre flurry of tweets on March 9 with a series of stark pronouncements that all Taiwanese people are trash, and that she doesn’t want them to watch her AV releases.

“Taiwanese men make my skin crawl,” she declared on X, apropos of nothing. She described Taiwanese food as smelling like piss and their language as unpleasant, and that she would “kill the dirty Taiwanese trying to enter Japan.”

She said that even if it’s just a minority of Taiwanese people who are the problem, the Taiwanese government then has a duty to eliminate them (or as she put it, “should massacre them”).

She also specified that she felt the same about Chinese people.

Did Kago intend it all as an elaborate jape? Or is she truly this racist?

The messages have since all been deleted, so we cannot verify the screenshots that unknown others took and posted, and Kago has not issued any statement or apology over the matter.

It comes at a time of uneasy relations in East Asia. Japan and China are in the midst of a diplomatic spat that began shortly after Sanae Takaichi became prime minister, while Taiwan is nervous about China’s plans for the region, and is looking to Japan to help with security.

On the other hand, Japanese porn is very popular in other parts of East Asia, and JAV stars enjoy huge followings in China and Taiwan.

Kago made her debut in 2022 and is currently attached to the agency Summit. She has had a relatively low-key 2026 so far, releasing only one or two new AVs. Somehow, unless she is planning to market her work directly to Sanseito voters, we doubt her alleged rant is going to help her career.
