A 44-year-old unemployed man from Higashiosaka is facing fresh charges after police say he blackmailed and sexually assaulted a high school girl he connected with through compensated dating (papakatsu).
Hisanori Hashimoto, already under indictment for attempted coercion, was hit with a new arrest warrant on Thursday on suspicion of non-consensual intercourse and illicit photography.
According to investigators, he met the teenage victim on social media in August 2025. During their first meeting he photographed her ID. Later he started sending threatening messages like “If you don’t meet me, I’ll tell your parents and your school,” then allegedly forced her into a hotel where he assaulted her and filmed it.
Police say Hashimoto specifically hunted for girls looking for papakatsu arrangements online. His method was straightforward and nasty: get photos of their IDs and faces, secretly follow them home to snap pictures of their houses, then use that as leverage. He’d message victims things like “Do you think it’s okay to do papakatsu? I’ll expose you,” and force some into repeated assaults under the threat of being outed to their families.
The latest charges came while police were already digging into him after another teenage girl filed a complaint. That earlier case led to him being arrested twice between May and June this year.
When they seized his phone, officers found photos and videos of more than a dozen other women. Cops now believe he’s a serial offender and are still working to confirm additional victims.
