Gifu Elementary School Teacher Gets the Boot for Trying to Film in a Brothel

Yo, check this out — a dude who taught at a primary school in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, just got straight-up dismissed for trying to secretly record a woman working at a sex establishment.

The guy worked at Naka Daiichi Elementary School, but the Gifu Prefectural Board of Education fired him on June 19 after the whole mess came to light.

Back in mid-December last year, he pulled out his smartphone at a place in Saitama Prefecture and tried to film one of the workers. She caught him in the act, called the cops, and the Saitama police reached out to his school the very next day. Boom — he was immediately banned from showing up to work.

His name is Akira Asano. In March he got summarily indicted for attempted filming of sexually explicit stuff, and in April he was hit with a ¥400,000 fine.

When the education board questioned him, the 59-year-old apparently said something like, “I acted on a moment of weakness.” He also admitted to secretly filming women two or three other times at sex spots in Aichi Prefecture last year.

The head of the Education Management Division, Yoshiaki Nakano, put out a statement saying it betrayed the trust of the kids, parents, and everyone in Gifu, and they’re really sorry about it.

Look, secretly filming sex workers in Japan is a seriously bad idea — it can easily get you arrested (even politicians have gone down for it). If you wanna make a video, just do it with someone who’s actually cool with it.

Wild story, right? Teachers out here living double lives. 😳
