A new face is making the rounds in Japanese gravure, and she’s got that mix that tends to get extra attention. Tina Kitsune is half-Japanese, half-Australian, grew up Down Under, and at 24 she’s already gone from posting on Instagram and TikTok to landing magazine covers.
She’s been building an audience since around 2023 as an influencer, creator, and streamer (mostly in English). The photos she puts up aren’t exactly modest, which definitely helped the numbers climb. Magazine people noticed, and her gravure debut happened in May with a Young King cover. She’s back on the cover of the September 1 issue as well.
This week she also released a digital photobook for Weekly Playboy called Oceania Innocence. That’s on top of another Weekly Playboy set and digital book from July titled Foxy Lady. The latest shoot was done by veteran gravure photographer ND Chow.
Why Japan in the first place? She told Weekly Playboy she first saw snow in Hokkaido while there for an Apex Legends tournament. That trip gave her the idea to do a bikini shoot in the snow. She said she was so into it she barely felt the cold, and it made her want to work more in Japan. She also mentioned loving the cherry blossoms and how organized and on-time everything is.
As for why gravure specifically: it looked fun. She already posts a lot of photos online, so seeing them in a magazine sounded interesting. Plus she figured she wouldn’t have to lean as hard on formal Japanese, which she’s still studying. She wanted a gig where she could just be herself.
She’s had a packed few months with all these shoots landing close together. Whether she sticks around and builds the kind of long-term following some other mixed-heritage models have is still an open question. She’s got the look and the energy. The rest is just whether the audience keeps showing up.
