Model Airi Hirase Shows Off Her ¥30 Million Plastic Surgery Glow-Up

Model Airi Hirase (also known as Nyairin) just dropped a bunch of old photos on X, and the before-and-after is wild. She’s already known for having spent around ¥27.5 million on plastic surgery, and this time she went all the way back—including a childhood photo with glasses next to a current shot of her in a dress. There are also pics from her high school gyaru days, which look pretty different from the version of her circulating now.

The timing wasn’t random. Hirase is appearing in the Netflix series Plastic Beauty, which stars Miyu Matsuoka and Riisa Naka as women working in beauty clinics. Sharing the old photos right around the release feels like a smart way to remind people she exists and get some buzz going.

In past posts she’s talked about her path to getting there. From age 16 she worked multiple jobs, including for removal and security companies, for about eight years. She even posted a photo of herself in her security guard uniform. She was living in a tiny one-room apartment with rent of just ¥23,000 a month while saving up for the procedures.

Reactions to the old photos have been mixed. Some people said the earlier images were hard to look at, while others gave her credit for pushing through the pain and the work. A lot of comments focused on the sheer amount of money involved—people were doing the math on how many years of a regular office worker’s salary that adds up to—and praising the effort it must have taken to save that much.

These days she models for the fashion magazine Ane Ageha and works as an influencer. She also did a Weekly Playboy shoot in 2024 that turned into a digital photo book billed as a “testament” to her surgeries (which were listed at about ¥24 million at the time). With her current H-cup figure, it’s pretty clear some of the work went toward her chest as well.

Whether you see it as an extreme makeover or just someone who decided to invest heavily in her appearance, the visual change is hard to ignore.
