Maya Imamori just dropped another bombshell while trying to restart her career.

The former Miss Magazine 2023 winner and Super Sentai actress has been quietly (and not-so-quietly) trying to rebuild after her agency dropped her last November over underage drinking. That scandal cost her the role of the first female Black warrior in Number One Sentai Gozyuger, and she’s been freelancing ever since. She even admitted in a recent YouTube video that she briefly worked as a hostess to pay the bills, while denying the papakatsu rumors that followed.

Then, during a casual appearance on Junpei Nakamachi’s personal YouTube channel (the video dropped mid-October), things got real. While talking about how badly she wants a kid as soon as possible, the 20-year-old casually said she got pregnant once back in her first year of high school. The father was Chinese. She framed it as something she’s thought about almost every day for the past six years — the reason she still wants children so urgently.

She didn’t explicitly say what happened afterward. Fans and netizens filled in the blanks, and the backlash was immediate. On X, Imamori (who fans still call Mayachan) posted a written apology. She said she never expected one offhand remark to trigger so much criticism and abuse, called the statement irresponsible, and noted that she views the memory as a normal part of her daily life rather than something shocking. She added that she can’t (or won’t) go into further details about the outcome, apologized for being selfish, and announced she’s pausing all online activity for a while so she can properly face the situation.

This is her second self-inflicted mess in a short span. After the drinking incident killed her mainstream momentum, she’s been trying to control her own narrative through YouTube and social media. So far, the strategy mostly seems to be making things worse. The half-Japanese, half-Filipino talent who once looked like a rising gravure star with photo books under her belt is still very much in damage-control mode.

Whether this latest confession was meant as radical honesty or just a slip while drinking and chatting remains unclear. Either way, the internet took it and ran.
