PS4 Tops 108.9 Million Shipments Worldwide

PlayStation sales are slowing down with 6.1 million units shipped in the last three months of 2019.

Total shipments of PlayStation 4 have reached 108.9 million worldwide, Sony announced in its published financial results report.

During the holiday season of 2019, 6.1 million PlayStation 4 units were shipped for a total of 108.9 million as of the end of 2019. It’s the lowest holiday quarter since the PS4 launched back in 2013.

Sony still forecasts that they will have sold a total of 13.5 million units by the end of the current fiscal period – ending March 31, 2020.

The lower sales won’t be too surprising to Sony as the PS$ is now reaching the end of its cycle, and sales have already far exceeded first predictions. Additionally, hype for the upcoming PS5 console has begun so many people will be now holding out for the newer updated console – with some AAA titles already announced such as The Last of US Part 2, and Ghost of Tsushima.
